Superstar Rajinikanth has often told his fans to vote for whichever party they liked in the Assembly, Parliament and local body polls. He has also told them that he'd seek their 'help' only when he needed one. The star doesn't instruct them to vote for any particular party and has told them on more than on occasion that they're free to express their political affiliations during the elections.
Saidai Ravi, an important office-bearer of Rajini's fan club, has openly expressed his support to Saidai Duraisamy, ex-legislator and the ruling AIADMK's Mayoral candidate in the upcoming local body polls.
Ravi's supporters and many fans of the superstar are said to be working overtime in ensuring the success of Duraisamy at the electoral field.
Ravi is said to have taken 'prior permission' from the chief fan club managed by the superstar's assistant Sathynarayana. Talking about his campaigning, Ravi says "We don't see Duraisamy Anna as a candidate from a particular party. He has done many good things to the people of Saidapet on his own without us seeking help from him.
"Ask any resident of the area and he'd vouch for the fact that whatever the issue is, Duraisamy Anna is always there to render a helping hand. If he becomes Mayor, Chennai city would be spruced up like never before and would reclaim its original glory," said Ravi.
It may be noted that Duraisamy had earlier met Rajinikanth and sought his blessings!
